La religión es un fenómeno universal que abarca sistemas de creencias, prácticas y valores morales que relacionan a la humanidad con lo trascendental. Históricamente, ha funcionado como el principal eje organizador de las civilizaciones, proporcionando un sentido de propósito y una estructura ética que ha viajado y se ha transformado a través de las migraciones y los contactos culturales.
Religion is a universal phenomenon encompassing belief systems, practices, and moral values that relate humanity to the transcendental. Historically, it has functioned as the primary organizing axis of civilizations, providing a sense of purpose and an ethical structure that has traveled and been transformed through migrations and cultural contacts.
1. LA DIFUSIÓN DE LAS IDEAS TEOLÓGICAS Y FILOSÓFICAS

A través de las rutas comerciales y los movimientos de población, las grandes corrientes del pensamiento espiritual (como las de la India, Oriente Medio y Europa) se han influido mutuamente. Este intercambio permitió que conceptos sobre la justicia, la compasión y la existencia del ser migraran entre continentes, creando un sustrato ético compartido que influye en las leyes y costumbres de la sociedad moderna.
Through trade routes and population movements, the great currents of spiritual thought (such as those from India, the Middle East, and Europe) have influenced each other. This exchange allowed concepts of justice, compassion, and the existence of the being to migrate between continents, creating a shared ethical substrate that influences the laws and customs of modern society.

El encuentro entre diferentes sistemas de creencias ha dado lugar a procesos de sincretismo donde las prácticas originales se fusionan con las tradiciones locales de los nuevos territorios. Este fenómeno es evidente en el desarrollo de la identidad en las Américas y el Mediterráneo, donde la estructura formal se mezcló con las raíces indígenas y africanas para crear nuevas formas de expresión espiritual y social.
